I majored in Fashion Design at The Art Institute of Colorado and graduated with a BA in September 2016. There, I developed my skills as a technical designer and began to develop a sense of personal style that I was drawn to create. I found a love for technical design after going through a rough patch in my personal life, and spent a good amount of that time honing in on my Illustrator and Photoshop skills. I have done freelance technical design work for various local Denver, CO apparel companies.
When I'm not sitting in front of a computer or drawing pad, I love creating sexy lingerie and glammed-up bohemian rocker-chic apparel, because that's a thing, right? Photography, Bikram yoga, live concerts, backpacking and hot springing are a few other things that I do to create a balanced lifestyle.
My creative approach generally starts with symbolism. I enjoy finding a points of tension behind the idea I’ve been assigned or am interested in. I do several iterations on each point and usually end up refining the one I find most controversial.
For me, controversy isn’t about instigation, but rather, a way to arrest your audience. It’s a way to plant a little bit of desire in their hearts; a yearning to turn the page and learn more about your idea. Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable images.
